Google Notebook


Activity: Search with Notebook

  • Choose a topic to research.
  • Use as many of the tools above as possible to search for relevant resources.
  • Save and annotate your "finds" in a Google Notebook
  • Share your notebook and post a link to your notebook on your LITT page.
  • Reflect on your experience and share with the group.
  • OPTIONAL: Create a blog post from your shared notebook. You can even amend your reflections to the post.

Collaborative Activity: How might Google Docs be valuable to you in your role as an educator?

  • As a team, create a doc, spreadsheet, or presentation to illustrate your answer.
  • Share the file with everyone on the team as a collaborator.
  • Publish the file and share the url on your team page.

Collaborative Activity: Create A Multi-Media District Map

  • We will create a new custom map and invite all LITTs as collaborators.
  • Add a marker for your site (and any other relevant locations).
  • Add additional markers for important buildings or areas at your site.
  • Embed text and media into the markers, including:
    • Text
    • Links
    • Images
    • Video (if applicable)
    • Other, such as a Google Doc, Form, or Presentation
  • Share what you've done with the group.
  • OPTIONAL Alternative Activity: "My Favorite Places" map for LITTs.

UPDATE: Due to spending more time on Search, Docs, and Maps we didn't complete the "Even More" and "Jigsaw" activities below. Feel free to explore these tools on your own.

Jigsaw Activity

  • A representative from each team will each of the tools above.
  • Representatives will meet to learn as much as they can about the tool in the time provided.
  • Representatives will then return to their original group to share about the tool.
  • Time permitting, AHA! moments will be shared with the large group as a whole.

  • What one thing do you most want to implement first & what are your next steps?
  • What is one goal you have for the first semester?
  • What do you want to be doing with your students in one year?
